Book Club

FAQ's

Do you meet in person or online?

Book club meetings are in person.

Do you provide the books for the book club meetings?

All members of the book club obtain their own copies of the book. This way, they can choose whether they want a hardcover, paperback,

electronic, or audio version. Or a combination.

How often does the book club meet?

We meet once a month to discuss the month’s book, with the exception of December.

Can I attend the book club meeting even if I didn’t finish the book (or haven’t started it at all)?

Absolutely. There is great value in attending the discussions even when you haven’t read the material.

How much do the books cost?

The average price is about R300. However, care is taken to alternate between expensive books and more affordable ones.

What genres does the book club read?

We read a wide range of genres including time management, self-help, sales, networking, business strategy, and more. Each month, the book selection varies to keep things interesting.

Where do the book club meetings take place?

Our meetings are held at a coffee shop that is chosen for providing a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere for discussions.

I do not have the time to spend 2 hours in a book club meeting

I feel you. My experience is that every month is a choice to invest the 2 hours to become more. The payoff is worth every minute.

Are there any costs to the book club meeting?

Only the cost of your book and any refreshments you order at the meeting place. That’s it.

How much time does it take to read a book?

Most books require 6–8 hours.

I do not have time to read! How will I ever finish a book?

What works well is to set aside 30 minutes each day (or just weekdays – that will still be enough). This way, you will be able to finish even the longer books in 2–3 weeks. A little trick I use is to always carry my book with me and read it in those moments when you would otherwise mindlessly

scroll through social media. My doctor is so used to seeing me with a book that he always greets me with: “So what are we reading today?”

Does reading make such a big difference that it justifies the effort?

A resounding yes! In my life, the impact of reading quality books on a regular basis has been nothing short of dramatic. Jim Rohn said: “If you want to have more, you have to be more.” One of the best ways to become more is to consistently read books that challenge, inspire, and refine you.

Do I have to attend the book club meetings or can I just read the book?

There is no roll-call or judgment if you don’t attend themeetings. However, the meetings expose you to other people’s insights and

perceptions. It enriches the material and the value you gain from it. It is

also an excellent networking opportunity.
